HELP THE VOTE-”I’D LOVE TO CHANGE THE WORLD” by ALVIN LEE AND TEN YEARS AFTER

If you haven’t voted before,  and like me you are concerned about the vote become a poll worker here. Poll workers are usually older folks. The younger people need to replace the corona virus afraid old poll workers. This government web site will inform you all about voting you’ll need to know.

I picked a  song from an artist I orginally felt nothing for. I even saw Alvin Lee and Ten Years After in concert, but when I heard this song and it was love!  This song merited a closer look at the brilliant lyrics, so I chose this video.

IF YOU BELIEVE IN CLIMATE CHANGE- VOTE- I”M A BELIEVER by NEIL DIAMOND

I’m in California smelling the smoke and watching the hurricane on TV. I find it difficult to deny climate change. My Life Matters has become my new motto. Got to love the athletes who recognize the vote will change things. SO VOTE,  the choice has never been clearer!

I choose the singer/songwriter version of this classic It was a hit for the Monkees and Smash Mouth recorded a version of this classic song for the movie “Shrek.” Neil is the prolific writer, who wrote many songs you already know.

MY WORLD IS BURNING-”FIRE by THE CRAZY WORLD OF ARTHUR BROWN

9/11 of all days and this is the post?  It’s burning outside! Australia was first  and now California is burning.  I hope climate change becomes a big issue in the election. If you are a climate change denier you have a candidate and if you are concerned about climate change you have candidate too. First you need to register to vote. Voting is so important these days.

The song i choose is ”Fire” by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown.  What a gr8 song about fire! The Crazy World of Arthur Brown was ground breaking. This experimental group only had one big hit, this one in 1968, but it still rocks today.

LOUISIANA REGISTER TO VOTE ONLINE-”WORKING IN THE COAL MINE” by LEE DORSEY

As latest hurricane, climate change makes the excellent case to vote, if you want to acknowledge global warming might be responsible. My sympathies to all those: in the “path of” or “recent survivors of” the spate of hurricanes this year.  I have found that people in Louisiana can register online to vote. I wonder if this  even helps those, who lost their electricity?

Thinking of those displaced in Louisiana without electricity, and out of the news cycle.  New Orleans has always been a hot bed for music. I chose an Allen Toussaint penned and arranged masterpiece “Working in the Coal Mine” performed by Lee Dorsey.

DON’T DRILL BABY DRILL- “UP NORTH TO ALASKA” by JOHNNY HORTON

In this strange time of a pandemic to expand oil drilling especially in Alaska’s Wildlife  Refuge. Known as the wildest place in America this is not a place to start any oil drilling in this pristine region of our country. Maybe the low price for oil make this bad timing. But the selling of leases not to be undone in the future can start in 2020. This does and will continue the use of fossil fuel during the calls for climate change. If you hate this and want to save wildernesses,  please  VOTE.

I chose a folk ballad sung by Johhny Horton. He was a Country singer who was known for his Folk Ballads. The  movie starring John Wayne with the same title made this song a #4 in 1960. I chose the original song written by Johnny and Tillmans Franks that was re recorded for the movie soundtrack lp. What a loss when we lost this wonderful singer/writer to a car crash in 1960.

VOTE PLEASE- “POINT OF ORDER” by STAN FREBERG AND DAWES BUTLER

After watching the current congressional hearings, I was saddened by the seeming lack of growth of the Congress  over my lifetime. Is this the way we want to be governed? Have we devolved or evolved? It was hard to tell. If we learned anything or not. So I was reminded of my youth.

70 years before video sharing, Stan Freberg’s satire recordings are priceless. “Point of Order” challenged the most powerful in D.C.  It was “hi-fi” the existing technology used to it’s limits  by aspiring communicators.  I was questioning the last 70 years.  I thought we could improve upon our self rule. SO VOTE PLEASE!

REGISTER TO VOTE, “STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN” by LITTLE ROGER AND THE GOOSEBUMPS

It’s confusing these days. It seems the covoronavirus was there all along in our waste. Plus it might not have started in China. It makes voting important. You can’t vote if you’re not registered. You can check here to see if you’re in the voter rolls.

Puddles, although I was tickled by being remembered, I was confused by the video of you lip synching a song I produced. Thanks for remembering!

REGISTER TO VOTE-YELLOPAIN – MY VOTE DONT COUNT

Today is the beginning of Facebook’s “Register To Vote” drive. Their goal is to have 4,000,000 people new voters with this campaign. Have you registered?  Voting in a democracy is your voice, something you don’t get elsewhere. If you don’t vote, you got no say in your future.

YelloPain’s eloquent song included a down ballot message about how you should use your vote. Voting gives you a say in your future! This song says it all.

VOTE-”SAY MY NAME” by DESTINY’S CHILD

Beyonce made a passionate plea to get out the vote upon receiving the Humanitarian Award at the BET award show. Michele Obama gave her the award. Her message “Vote Like Your Life Depends On It, might not resonate immediately. I bought a pie at ”Pizza to the Polls.” I want to  help feed those grumbling tummies that are forced into long lines to vote, Because Beyonce might be right.

I chose Beyonce’s 1st group, Destiny’s Child, The song is gr8 and ever so meaningful. I was going to use a lyric’s video, but I wanted to show some early Beyonce, so I chose the official video.

VOTE-“SAFE AND SOUND” by CAPITAL CITIES

This is a late entry because I just found out about today’s event at 830 EST tonite.

Calling Youth Organizers: Join The Vote Safe 2020 Rally!

The RSVP for today’s online event to help register voters to stay home and vote safely.

Again i chose a lyrics video for a song we’ve all heard. This familiar song by Capital Cities discusses that safe and sound feeling. It’s important to feel safe when voting .
